Unhurryup!™ into Easter #32

How have you been able to sense God welcoming you over the last 24 hours?
In what ways has this opened your heart to trust His love?

Lean into God's love, centering your attention and focus toward Him.

Find a quiet, comfortable space.
Take a clear glass of water...
swirl it a few times, set it down and watch it settle.
As you do, pray God would settle your own soul.
If any distractions (to-do's, people, etc) come, simply utter,
"Lord, settle my soul"
and refocus.
Once you feel more settled, move on.

Evaluate honestly how you are as you come into His presence.
As you come to be with God in these moments, take heed of how you feel.
With what is your heart most preoccupied?
Quietly lift this preoccupation into His hands and pray:
"Help me to be open to what you want to reveal to me today
about your real self and about my real self."

Notice what stirs your soul as you interact with the following:
"If God is fundamentally a creator, then whatever would destroy creative work or keep us from it is not of God." - Sara Zarr
I have been madly involved in creative work - a kitchen remodel including tiling/grouting a wall and painting my countertops! You could say that I have been busily resurrecting my kitchen - it has pleased my creative bent more than I can say - a deep satisfaction in expressing myself and making it flow together has connected me to my Creator in a delightful way.

God, our Creator, invites us to be creatively involved with His work.

God, as Creator, creatively came up with a renovation plan for humanity - Jesus' death and resurrection. He laid out a plan for this renovation - before the curse was 3 seconds old, God had a plan to restore His people unto Himself. It would be costly - but the end result would be worth the "sweat" equity. And over a couple millenia, God put the pieces together, all leading toward the cross and resurrection! Brilliant and beautiful creativity at its best!

  • In what ways do you find joy in expressing your creativity? Cooking? Gardening? Art? Music? Writing? Scrap booking? Auto repair? How you organize stuff? Helping others learn? Woodworking? Crocheting? etc.
  • What is it you like about that?
  • Is there anything keeping you from partaking in it?
  • How might you use a creative project as a reminder to thank God for His creative "solution" of redeeming you through his death and resurrection?
Take 3-5 minutes in silence to listen to how God delights in your creativity.

Trust Him to open your heart toward fully receiving and living into His love.

Take note of how you feel after interacting with God over creativity.
In what do you sense God is inviting you to express your creativity this week?
How do you want to respond to God as you leave this space?
Ask God for the grace to creatively engage with life - bringing beauty and new life as you go.
