Apprehend God in all things, for God is in all things.
Every single creature is full of God and is a book about God.
Every creature is a word of God.
If I spent enough time with the tiniest creature—even a caterpillar—
I would never have to prepare a sermon.
So full of God is every creature.
—Meister Eckhart ~ a 13th Century God-lover
- What part of the quote above most strikes you?
- Take some time to slow down to "be with" a creature today - whether that's watching a spider spin her web, a beloved pet, or watching the birds of the air. What does this creature - and your interaction with them - want to reveal to you about God?
- At the end of your day consider spending 5-10 minutes reflecting on your day: "Where did I notice God in the midst of my ordinary day?" and "Where did I fail to notice God?" Pray however you're led and set your heart's intention to open your eyes (ears, nose, mouth, hands) toward God's revelations of Self to you tomorrow.
